What is a B-2 Visitor Visa?
The B-2 visa is a non-immigrant tourist visa for tourists or individuals who want to visit the United States for short periods. The visa is valid for 90 days or less; however, in some cases, the length of stay can be extended depending on a circumstance.

Applicants for the B-2 visa are usually tourists, but in some cases students, medical tourists or people visiting relatives may want to use it.
People from the countries in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) need not apply for a B-2 visa so long as they intend is to stay 90 days or less. However, if you intend to stay longer than the approved 90 days or if you are from the country that is not in the VWP, you may need a B-2 visa.
